Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital is currently an affiliated hospital of Nanjing University School of medicine and a clinical medicine and teaching hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing University of traditional Chinese medicine, Jiangsu University, Xuzhou Medical University, Peking Union Medical College, China Pharmaceutical University and Southeast University.

Hospital has the national residency standardized training base, the national specialist standardized training base, the national clinical pharmacist training base, the national general practitioner standardized training base , capacity construction base, and the clinical comprehensive capacity training center of the Ministry of education, the Jiangsu provincial general practitioner standardized training and demonstration base, have the best and most systematic clinical skills training center in the province. We hosted a large number of provincial municipal skills examinations, and national level continuing medical education training courses and undertook the faculty training tasks of the national, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces.

Our hospital has a standardized clinical medical talent training system integrating college education, post-graduation education, and continuing education, which covers the entire type of medical school education in China, including a five-year system of clinical medicine, a seven-year system, " 5 + 3 " integration, and Eight-year top innovative talents pilot project, and nine-year pilot.

At present, it has a first-class teaching team and high-quality teaching resources, with more than 1000 clinical teachers and more than 300 graduate tutors, including 120 doctoral tutors, and has cultivated more than 10000 talents of all kinds, laying the foundation for supporting the high-quality development of the hospital.

College education
1. Undergraduate education Our hospital undertakes the theory, clinical teaching and practice of medical students, and receives nearly 500 interns from 22 famous medical Colleges and universities across the country every year.
2. Postgraduate education Our college has undertaken the postgraduate education and training of 8 colleges and universities, including Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing University of traditional Chinese medicine, Peking Union Medical College, Xuzhou Medical University, Jiangsu University and China Pharmaceutical University. It has 6 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 19 second-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 11 first-class discipline master's degree authorization points, and 32 second-class discipline master's degree authorization points to jointly cultivate master's and doctoral students in basic medicine, clinical medicine, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and biology.

Residents / specialists standardized training
Our hospital took the lead in carrying out resident standardized training in the province since 1992, and was recognized as the first batch of national resident standardized training bases in 2014. Our hospital is also the first in China to cooperate with Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States, a top international hospital, to establish a residential training project system with intellectual property rights of Drum Tower Hospital, which is based on post competency and milestone and combined with 360 ° evaluation system.

Continuing education
At present, our hospital has 1 national advanced study class, 4 provincial advanced study classes and several college advanced study classes. The recruitment of advanced students adopts the long-term and short-term flexible training mode, with about 400-500 trainees coming to the hospital every year and 20 going out for training every year, so as to expand the influence of the hospital.

Faculty training
Our hospital attaches importance to the construction of high-quality teaching staff, and has become a national clinical teaching and training demonstration center, forming a teaching and education teaching staff with academicians, Changjiang distinguished professors, outstanding young people, excellent young people, professors, associate professors, lecturers, graduate tutors, teaching directors, core teachers, and teaching secretaries. In order to ensure high-quality teaching and cultivate innovative top-notch talents, our college has established a layered and classified training of teachers and a 360 ° comprehensive evaluation system. PBL teaching, simulation teaching, virtual teaching, animal surgery teaching methods and courses have been carried out to improve the teaching quality and ability.

Skills training center
Our hospital has a clinical skills training center with the largest area, the highest utilization rate and the leading degree of informatization in Jiangsu Province. The center is equipped with hardware equipment such as models, monitoring equipment, transcribing and broadcasting video and audio systems covering all specialties, and software systems such as teaching management platform, autonomous learning platform, intelligent evaluation platform, etc. The center offers layered and classified training courses, and sets up co construction centers such as Da Vinci surgical system training center, American Heart Association (AHA) training center, Olympus endoscopic training center, with an annual training volume of nearly 40000 people, which is the largest in the province.

Teaching achievements
At present, 15 textbooks are edited and participated in by our college, including national planning textbooks, national specialist textbooks, eight-year system, national medical planning textbooks for colleges and universities, 14th five year plan textbooks, etc. Since 2018, our hospital has taken the lead in the construction of specialized medical simulation teaching courses in the province. At present, a total of 12 departments have carried out more than 40 specialized courses, which have been applied in the teaching of medical students, the standardized training of residents, especially the standardized training of specialists and the training of refresher doctors, improving the specialized skills and discipline influence.
